What is relationship marketing architecture (RMA)?

Relationship marketing architecture is composed of two parts: Relationship marketing, and architecture.

Relationship marketing refers to all aspects of actively establishing a dialog with your clients. This includes direct marketing, email, web, and database marketing.

Architecture addresses the various layers and how they work together.

Much like an electrical or plumbing blueprint, RMA identifies the data sources and outputs -- as well as the logic, the data transformations and the linkages -- that define the various layers of a multi-channel relationship marketing program.

RMA maps the client conversation through the lifecycle stages and ensures that the right personalized message is sent to the right person at the right time from the appropriate source.
